High School Sweethearts Engagement Session in Alvin, TX
Engagement photos at your High-School
Still in the back to school spirit with these two high-school sweethearts who chose to go back to where it all began. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Destiny and Jonathan since before high-school, so getting to photograph them, so many years later and so in love, was a lot of fun! They took me on a walk around our old high school campus, pointed out a few meaningful spots and shared some of their stories with me. Getting to visit locations where my couples have very significant memories about their relationship takes the session to a whole new level. A high-school may not be first on anyone’s list for portraits but to Destiny and Jonathan it was a chance to go back to their first interactions as a couple. This is something I encourage couples to think about so that their engagement photos have just that much more meaning and trigger good memories during the session.
Our second location was a local park full of moody romantic landscapes. Alvin has a few hidden gems and Camp Mohawk is one of them! But just before we left, I had to get a photo of Jonathan’s car. They both share an interest in Camaros!
A favorite prompt to give my couples: Now you dance! Combine that with a glowing field at golden hour and you get magic!
Dusk is quickly becoming a fun time to make portraits for me! The mood changes, it gets quite and private. More on this another time but during this session I started to realize I’m ok with loosing light!
For this session there was two locations, one very meaningful to the couple and the other fun and magical. We talked about wanting to add some meaning to the session but also wanting portraits surrounded with greenery but still close to home. Everything comes together with careful and considerate planning during the creative consultation before the session.
