Dog Friendly Wedding Venues in Houston, TX

A list of dog friendly wedding venues in HTX!

Hello my name is Jacqueline Andrade. I am a dog mom + wedding photographer in the Houston area who dreams to one day have my dog participate in my wedding. With this in mind, I started wondering what dog friendly venues there are in the Houston area!

The entire month of January I reached out to some of my favorite wedding venues and even got to meet some of the owners, managers and coordinators to share our love for dogs/pets and working with couples like you! I wrote down the location, my take on these venues, and notes from the venue representatives. Photos were taken by me unless otherwise stated below the image! You can click the name of the venue to visit their website and learn more.

Common Rules: Know your dog’s temper and behaviors. Keep your dog on a leash. Pick up after your dog. These are the most common rules among the list and really at any public location!

For the most part, all of these venues allow your dog in the ceremony but recommend you don’t bring your dog to the reception, with the exception of service dogs. Each venue has their reasons and they all make perfect sense. This also goes back to one of the common rules; knowing your dog. If you know your dog will hate the loud music and crowd, designate someone to take them back home or hire a local boarding/pet spa to come pick them up in a limo… talking about The Pet Palace! Imagine your dog in a limo on their way for a spa day?! HOW ADORABLE!

I hope this will be a good start to find a venue that fits you and your pup best!

Tuscan Courtyard

Texas City, TX

Say “I do” with a little Tuscany in Texas! I’ve always loved this slogan! Family owned and operated! Angela and her team will make sure your wedding day runs as smoothly as possible with all inclusive options as well as micro wedding and elopement options. There’s so many unique spots for photos on this property, forest, ponds with lily pads, patios and the cutest bridge! After bonding over our love for dogs, Angela and I planned a little styled shoot and got some of the most adorable images that I will have to highlight on their very own blog soon.

Pup notes from Angela: Pups have to be leashed & stay outside because of the shedding. The Manor's covered patio is a great hang out spot! And couples have to pick up the 💩, that’s outside of my job description. 😂

Venue 311

Plantersville, TX

A farm house style venue with the cutest chapel on site plus a closet full of props included in your 14 hr rental. Family owned and operated! Nancy made me feel so welcomed even after I got stuck behind a work convoy and ran late to our meeting. THANK YOU NANCY. I had the nicest time exploring her venue while talking about our love for chickens and dogs. I also got to hear first hand about how they decided to build their venue and their mission to provide a classy and upscale feel, without the upscale price.

Pup notes from Brittney & Nancy: Pets can be a huge part of our lives, so we think they should also be a part of our couple's big day should they request. We actually had a recent bride partner with a rescue - they brought out a bunch of adoptable puppies and set up a little enclosure outside for all of the guests to visit/play/consider adopting. All of the bridesmaids took photos with each holding a puppy - it was the coolest and cutest thing ever! Our rentals are 14 hours, so we do always ask that the pet in question be brought in before the ceremony, or kept crated, leashed when walked and cleaned up after.  We also ask that they be crated/taken home following the ceremony for the the safety of all guests.

Sandlewood Manor

Tomball, TX

My favorite thing about this property (if I must pick because it’s all so stunning) is the drive up to the manor house. Another cool feature is that there’s an actual theater room in the house, a pool and lodging. The bridal suite is upstairs in the manor and cocktail hour happens downstairs. The groom’s suite is in the back by the pool. Ceremonies can be held outdoors anywhere in the property or in their new wedding chapel.

Pup notes from Sandlewood: Pups are welcome for an outdoor ceremony or photo session but have to be taken somewhere off property after the ceremony so they are taken care of properly! (most people drink and forget so we want their pets to be taken care of too!) We do not allow dogs inside the event spaces due to allergen reasons. We always recommend someone to be designated to take care of the dog for the day and also take it off property after ceremony or pictures!

Madera Estates

Conroe, TX

Spanish elegance and Moroccan luxury with customizable all inclusive packages! Ian made me feel like a friend even though we had just met. We sat down and had a lovely, genuine conversation about the wedding industry in Houston and pups of course. This venue reminds me so much of New Mexico. All the warm clay colors and greenery to contrast it makes for beautiful backdrops left and right.

Pup notes from Ian: Pups must be accompanied at all times or in a kennel in one of our suites. Any potty accidents must be cleaned up by the client. Any damages caused by their dog may be taken out of their security deposit. Madera Estates and our employees bare no responsibility in any incidents that may arise due to, or caused by, the client’s dog.

The Bell Tower on 34th

Houston, TX

If you love ivy walls you’re going to fall in love with this venue. The green ivy against the white stone walls is my absolute favorite feature of the bell tower, it makes for super romantic and dreamy photos. Their staff is professional and organized ready to give you the perfect wedding experience. Did I mention there’s a water wall?! You can choose to have your ceremony outside in front of the water wall or inside in their chapel areas.

Pup notes from The Bell Tower on 34th: Most of our couples have their pup participate in their ceremony and then have one of the groomsmen take them home or the pup goes on a little vacation to a nearby boarding facility.

Houston Arboretum & Nature Center

Houston, TX

One of my favorite places to go for dog walks in all of Houston! The arboretum has tons of amazing trails, ponds, bridges, board walks and vegetation for the couple that wants to add a little bit of adventure to their wedding day! The hikes are super flat, short and sweet to any of the ceremony locations. Just always tell your guests there will be soft ground to walk on, so flats are encouraged. ;) Elopements can easily be done here! I can honestly talk about this place forever and share way too many photos with you!

Pup notes from Carol: We’ve had several fur babies fill the “Ring Bearers” shoes as well as other duties over the past few years. Usually, the ceremony itself is pretty calm and most dogs are fine with that part of the day. I ask that each client consider the temperament of their pet and how that pet may react to loud music and lots of human activity to determine if the pet should stay for the reception or if having the pet returned home would be better suited for the pet well fair as well as the reception guests. Pet must remain on a leash throughout the event both inside and out.

The Oaks at Oak Plantation

Rosharon, TX

A ranch style venue with 300+ year old oak trees and a spacious, elegant hall as well as on site lodging! There’s so much space to enjoy here. My favorite things about this venue are the grand fireplace in the reception hall and the swing at the front of the venue. You best believe we’re walking to that swing for some fun portraits!

Pup notes from The Oaks at Oak Plantation: We love pet participation!

Waters Edge

Seabrook, TX

It’s just what it sounds like! Something about being right in front of the water makes this location such a relaxing place to get married at and probably the most dog friendly one I got to visit yet! Even Mazapán (my dog) was invited on the tour and he got to have a play date with Marky, a border collie mix who is basically the venue mascot :D Rachel and Savannah love what they do and suggest that if you include your dog in your wedding you bring them to all your meetings at the venue so that they can become familiar with the space! Waters Edge also has pop ups during the week for anyone to enjoy the view. Pups are welcomed of course!

Pup notes from Rachel & Savannah: We are animal friendly all around, not even just dogs :) The only rules that we have would be that the animals are cared for and their mess is taken care of while they are onsite. Rachel: I actually bring my fur baby (Marky) to work every day and he has become kind of the venue mascot, we even joke that he is wedding ready because he is wearing a tuxedo all the time! We are open to whatever the couple is open to as far as rules. We have had pups even "work the room" and roam free at weddings if that is what the couple wants.

Haak Vineyards Winery

Santa Fe, TX

Nothing beats local booze at your wedding! You don’t have to travel to the hill country for some vineyards because, yes, we have some in Houston! Haak winery has rows and rows of grape vines, a wine cellar, as well as an adorable little open chapel for ceremonies and a spacious reception hall. It’s everything you want from vineyards in the hill country or California but close to home. I highly suggest sunset portraits in the vineyard! Haak is also a great weekend hang out with all the events they host at their winery.

Pup notes from Haak Vineyards Winery: We suggest couples not bring the dog into the dinner portion of the reception (for health inspection purposes). We’ve had several 4 legged-ring bearers and even a four legged Best Man.

Hotel Galvez & Spa

Galveston, TX

Located on the seawall, this hotel’s architecture is one of a kind! Not to mention the 100+ years of history that comes with booking this venue. Both outdoor and indoor ceremony options are available as well as a luxury, classy look for the reception. Not many hotels allow dogs so this is one for the list! It also has the beach only a short walk across the street for a sandy first look and or portraits!

Pup notes from Angie: We allow animals up to 25 lbs. A $100 non-refundable fee is required. We just ask that once the ceremony is over that the dog goes back to the room. You can click HERE to view their policy!

Di Amici Upscale Events

Seabrook, TX

I walked in to tour Di Amici and it was glowing warm orange as the sun was setting and leaving the candles to take over the romantic ambiance glow. Madison and her crew were so welcoming and kind. This venue is celebrating 10 years in business and is filled with romantic Italian landscape murals that give off a renaissance vibe. With in house coordination & decor, you are sure to have a stress free wedding at Di Amici!

Pup notes from Paula & Madison: It is based on a breed per breed basis. They have to be on a leash at all times! Also, they just have to leave after the ceremony unfortunately!

McGovern Centennial Gardens

Houston, TX

Ahh the gardens! Such a romantic setting to be married in. With the perfect blend of city and nature, you can always find these gardens in perfect condition, green grass and blooming flowers at all times of the year. There’s not one bad spot for photos here! This location is a perfect candidate for an elopement or micro wedding. The desert part of the gardens is my favorite!

Pup notes from Carol at the Gardens: The only requirement is that there is someone assigned to be in charge of the dog and in charge of disposing of any “pet waste”.  Clearly, aggressive dogs would not be welcome.  However, that issue has never come up and probably never will!

The Homestead

Willis, TX

Although this venue is still being built you can already book your wedding for next year(2022). My favorite kind of human is the one who includes their pets in their family portraits and Alexis, owner of The Homestead, happens to be one of them! We joked at how she calls her daughter her third child after her two pups and how I tell my mom she already has a grand baby from me as I point at my dog! lol I am so excited to tour this venue when it is ready but here are some renderings of what it will look like. I’m loving the all black exterior!

Pup notes from Alexis: Short answer— We LOVE pets! Long answer—With prior approval from The Homestead, personal pets may be permitted for the Ceremony time and/or photo sessions. Miniature animals provided by The Homestead and/or by a licensed and insured handler will also be considered if prior approval is requested. Re: all animal event involvement, once their involvement has ended, arrangements must be made for the animal(s) to immediately leave The Homestead grounds. If a personal pet is used for photos and/or the Ceremony, the pet must either leave the premises, be safely and securely placed into the owner's vehicle OR must be crated AND leashed and the crate must be placed in our private and temperature controlled Storage Room until the end of the event. All personal animals must be removed from the premises once the event has ended, no exceptions. Animals are not allowed to roam and/or be crated in either of the suites, under any circumstances. Certified service animals are always welcome at The Homestead!

Agave Estates

Katy, TX

Entering this venue is so rejuvenating. The greenery of the plants, a pool to enjoy and hacienda style wooden doors create a relaxing mood as if you were marrying in a resort without the travel. The staff is extremely inviting and friendly making sure everyone at your wedding is taken cared of, including your vendors. All inclusive packages available for your convenience.

Pup notes from Lindsey: We love including the pups in the ceremony. We just ask after the ceremony that they stay in a kennel in the suites or are brought back home.

The Oak Atelier

Conroe, TX

The perfect place to elope or have a micro wedding! The Willow has to be the simplest but coolest little green house around! It’s my favorite part of this venue. Any time of day, the lighting is just perfect! See for yourself! you can book by the hour or book the entire location!

Pup notes from The Oak Atelier: There is a $100 pet deposit that is refundable if everything is left in order. We do ask that they remain on leash if they are large dogs as we have a lot of wildlife (especially deer).

Holiday Acres

Manvel, TX

Looking for the classic red barn look? Holiday Acres is where you need to go! Enjoy a string-light ceremony and reception in this rustic chic venue with a xmas tree nursery available for photos in the backyard. Leigh Ann and her husband are such kind and welcoming hosts that make sure your day runs as smoothly as possible! The trees are also available for you to come chop and take home the holiday season!

Pup notes from Leigh Ann: We love weddings with dogs! Dogs are welcome at The Barn at Holiday Acres. They must be leashed and cannot go into the Bridal Cottage, but can be anywhere else on the property.

Ronin Art House

Houston, TX

For the more modern/industrial bride there is Ronin. A blank canvas for you to DIY or for your wedding planner to play with. There are two different venue locations, Ronin 1& Ronin 2, as of right now and one more coming soon. This venue is in the super cool Warehouse District of Houston and offers the perfect amount of space for a micro wedding or elopements. I love the brick walls at Ronin 2!

Pup notes from Keagan: Yes, dogs are allowed! House rules will be shared with the couple!

Thirteen48 Heights

Houston, TX

Anyone else love the houses in the heights? Well there is one that hosts micro weddings as well as elopements. It's absolutely perfect, just look at that stunning natural light and polished wooden staircase and floors. I am so happy they allow dogs! I was contacted by one of the hosts who let me know that you can rent this spot for any type of session and include your pup. So excited to get some photos here!

Pup notes from Thirteen48: We are huge dog lovers! You just need to notify us before bringing the pup and keep an eye on them at all times inside the house.

Images sent by owner.

Butlers Courtyard

League City, TX

Think vintage chic! The Butlers Courtyard family will happily welcome you in and treat you like family! They have the most amazing signature punch at every wedding and I always look forward to having a few cups when working there! This venue, that was once a bank, hardly needs any additional decor. Butlers is an all inclusive venue, with outdoor and tent ceremony options.

Pup notes from Lindsey: Basically any animal (because we have had more than pups) at the venue must be approved by our coordinating team. We ask our couples to make arrangements to secure the animal in a safe environment during the reception so they are not around the food. We can help with that! Naturally we also ask they clean up after the animal.

The Springs Event Venues- Magnolia Manor

Angleton, TX

The Springs offers many different venues all over Houston and the best part is they all allow dogs! Magnolia Manor in Angleton is the perfect blank canvas for any style wedding. The oak trees covered in ferns, and the way the grass is ALWAYS green makes this my favorite Springs Event Venue. I do have my eye on another one in Spring, TX that looks like something out of a Disney movie, but in French. Looking forward to touring that one soon and adding it to this list!

Pup notes from The Springs Event Venues: We ask that someone is responsible for picking up after the pup and keeping them on a leash and/or kennel. Also, we ask that the venue manager is informed ahead of time to figure out any extra details they might need.

Ashton Gardens Houston North

Houston, TX

If you are looking for more glass walls and chandeliers in your venue, Aston Gardens has you covered. This venue offers a few different locations with awesome staff and amazing in house coordinators. Plus, a beautiful tall chapel on site.

Pup notes from Ashton Gardens: Pups are allowed outdoors and in the chapel building only. After the ceremony is over, they must be in a kennel inside the bridal suite, or taken home as they are not permissible in the reception building.

I’m looking forward to visiting the following dog friendly venues for the first time and getting some photos to add! In the meanwhile you can still read their pup notes and click on their name for their website to see images and more.

Hidden Oaks Events

Angleton, TX

Pup notes from Lisa: Couples are required to pick up any presents left by the dog on the property and all of our couples have made arrangements for the dogs to be taken elsewhere after the ceremony and before the reception. Pets must weigh no more than 25 lbs. with a maximum of two pets per room.

The Astorian

Houston, TX

Pup notes from Season: Yes, we are a dog friendly venue. The couple is welcome to have their dog during the ceremony portion of the day, but they must be attended to the entire time. During the reception, the dog must be escorted out thorough. Due to health code violations, we cannot have the dog out in the venue while we are serving food, especially considering we are an indoor venue and there is no outside area for the dog to run around, go to the bathroom etc. But they are welcome during the ceremony.

The Revaire

Houston, TX

Pup notes from The Revaire: Dog poop must be picked up and disposed of in back of house trash – not bathroom trash cans. Client must bring dog bowl and crate. Client must keep dog on a leash at all times. Dog can only be present at ceremony and in the suite during reception other than for photos.

I hope this was helpful in finding a venue that’s right for you and your fur babies! I am so looking forward to working with more like minded vendors and couples this year. It’s ALWAYS a great idea to check and see if a vendor is a good fit for you: It makes the entire process way more enjoyable!

I do plan to update this list as I tour, meet and work with more dog friendly venues. and if you’re looking for a dog friendly photographer contact me for more info on photo & video packages :D

Happy wedding planning!
